1) ADVARRA IRB CIRBI Next Generation Portal

UCLA has migrated to the next generation of Advarra’s CIRBI platform. Study teams can now access those studies in the My Studies tab on the main dashboard of CIRBI next-generation.

As of May 12, 2026, study teams will access migrated studies and complete future submissions for them in CIRBI next-generation.

Any submissions in progress in the legacy CIRBI platform at the time of migration, will be completed in the legacy CIRBI platform. Once completed, they will migrate into CIRBI next-generation at a standard cadence as they are completed in the legacy CIRBI platform. Effective May 19, 2026, completed submissions will migrate to CIRBI next-generation daily (Tuesdays through Fridays).

Resources:

Please continue to use the following resources as you work in the new platform:

  • The next-generation of CIRBI self-guided demo – Take a tour of the new platform to learn how its modern visuals and updated features enhance and optimize the submission process.
  • Introduction to the CIRBI next-generation platform webinar – During this recorded webinar, we walk through submission workflows in the new CIRBI platform and allow time for Q&A with Advarra and CIRBI experts. You can watch the recording here. Password: *6wF7asP\\
  • CIRBI Next-Generation Training Modules – New eLearning modules specific to CIRBI next-generation are available for you to learn more about the platform. If you already have an Advarra University account, you can find these modules there. If not, we recommend you complete this training through the Advarra IRB Training Portal. You can find information on how to register for an IRB Training Portal account and which modules are specific to CIRBI next-generation in the Onboarding Resources section of the Documentation website. If you have any questions, please reach out to our Training team at training@advarra.com. Please note that training is recommended, not required.

2) WCG IRB’s next generation submission application – eReview Manager

WCG is gearing up to upgrade from IRB Connexus to WCG IRB’s next generation submission application – eReview Manager.

What You Can Expect During This Period:

  • For a period of approximately three months, you may have some studies using either Connexus or eReview Manager. You’ll receive notices tied to a sponsor’s migration weeks in advance of the actual migration date. The same process will apply if you have federally funded or IIT studies. WCG IRB is committed to supporting all end-users during this period, and welcome questions or requests for support.
  • Connexus will remain available until migration is complete, and WCG will manage the transition of eligible studies, documents, and user access.

LEARN AT LUNCH session:

Join our WCG IRB institutional representatives to review the new system, the plan for transitioning your studies from Connexus to eReview Manager and address any questions you may have.

Date: Thursday, May 28, 2026
Time: Noon-1pm
Location: Zoom (Register for this meeting)
