1) New Version of HIPAA Research Authorization Form – Translations Now Available
- The JCCC has translated the new HIPAA Authorization form into 10 languages for use at UCLA.
- If you need a language not listed on the HIPAA Authorization forms for use at UCLA, please contact the CTSI’s Embedded Clinical Research and Innovation Unit for assistance in translating additional languages.
- Thanks to the Jonsson Comprehensive Cancer Center for making these translations possible.
2) Updated Reliance Document – Guidance for Editing Consent Templates
- The Guidance for Editing Consent Templates for Studies Relying on an External IRB on the When UCLA Relies website has been updated. This guidance highlights edits to be made to the consent form for studies relying on an external IRB.
- Current templates for injury language, commercial value, changes resulting from new HIPAA form, and examples of common GDPR language to be removed have been added.
